Organising a
golf event
METHOD
1
• Decide
on venue and date.
• Agree type of golf day, 36, 27 or 18 holes.
• Contact golf club to establish: availability, cost of green fees, cost
of catering on offer.
• Cost the event per person comprising 1 green fees
2 catering fees
3 a prize fund.
• Decide type of competitions - Stableford, Medal, Better Ball.
• Confirm date and event details with chosen club.
• Forward deposit if required.
• Prepare event invitations with reply slips and despatch. (enclosing the
all important closing date for entries!)
• Collate entries and entry fees.
• Purchase prizes.
• Pre-prepare score
cards.
• Prepare and despatch starting times and travel instructions.
• Prepare results sheets and nearest the pin and longest drive sheets if
required.
• At the event:
1 register entrants
2 Issue scorecards
3 Collect completed scorecards
4 Check scorecards and record results
5 Set out the prize table
6 Announce the results.
