HIL HARRISON became
a golf professional in 1978. From 1981 he played
European Tour
Worldwide
Tournaments on a full time basis. Before taking up
his current post at Aldwark, Phil was Director of
Golf for Sir John Hall and played a major role in
the development of the course at Wynyard.
Some achievements
to date are: Numerous
top ten finishes on the European Tour.
Retained tour card for 12 years.
Won Pepsi Cola Challenge, Rio de Janeiro 1987.
2nd in Brazilian Open 1987.
Leading British player - South African Order of Merit 1986.
Qualified for the Open Championship 5 times.
Leader in the North Region of Merit 1986.
Winner of 13 events in 1995
including Northern Club Pro's Championship.
Winner of NE & NW PGA Championship a record 7 times.
Joint winner Kenyan Open 1996.
Top ten Kenyan Open 1997.
Winner of NE & NW PGA Order of Merit 1997.
In addition, Phil has built up his
own business, 'Scenic Golf', specialising in all aspects
of golf course design and management.
In his capacity as Director of Golf
at Aldwark Manor, Phil will be playing a leading role
in the development and improvement of the course.
Already, under his watchful eye, the
15th has been re-sculpted into the 'signature' hole at
Aldwark, to make it a very attractive - and challenging
- hole.
